Hi,

Noted your history about shattered ankle 12 years back and put in a plate, now pain in lower back, groin and leg, foot seems leaning inwards, unable to straighten as it causes lots of pain.
The possible causes I can think about for your symptoms are as follows:
Possible problem with the back like prolapsed inter vertebral disc causing nerve pinching that in turn pain in low back, groin and leg.
May be related or not related to ankle injury.
The cause for the problem with ankle can be related to the ankle joint deformity- acquired or so. The plate is usually removed after a few years as it is then bt needed and can cause complication as you have now.
Hence I would advise you the following:
Consult an Orthopedic Surgeon for clinical evaluation, examiantion and getting at least X-ray of the ankle to see for the cause of deformity.
MRI of the low spine can help to get the cause of other symptoms as you have noted above.
You need to get the plate removes, physiotherapy and further management as per the cause found.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T Chandrakant, ENT & General Surgeon
