Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband had a stroke the end of feb this yearToday heis complaining of pains in his legs and feet. Tonight they are quite swollen.I elevated his feet. His blood pressure was normal and he sugar was high480 He has diabetes takes glipizide . Should I give him a water pill We have furosemideto take as needed. He also takes a half of glipizide when his count is high.
The cause of legs swelling is a vital concern as circulatory disturbances, pulmonary issue, diabetic complication or others. I do not recommend a vague consumption of water pill which may or may not help and can create problem as well. Recommended to consult him with his regular physician for further guidance.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
