What Causes Pain In The Left Shoulder Post Injury?
Hi I had a shoulder/upper back (left side) injury from rugby about 3 years ago from playing rugby. The pain sometimes shoots across my left shoulder, up to my neck and sometimes down my left arm. It occurs only when im training and playing rugby and goes again during off-season. I have had it rubbed and looked at but still no change. Is this a tight muscle? And what advice do you have?
Your symptoms can be related to a muscular issue. To exclude other possible conditions, I recommend to do an X-ray of the shoulder. I recommend to use anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the pain. I also suggest using magnesium supplement for muscle relaxation. I also suggest using warm compresses which can also help in muscle relaxation.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
