Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 69 year old female. I woke up yesterday morning with the front of my left shoulder in pain. By the time I went to bed last night it had gotten a lot worse and had spread to behind my left shoulder blade. I can t move my left arm without having terrible pain. I have been using ice packs and heat and it helps until I try to move. I have a pacemaker due to an electrical problem and the worse pain is in the pacemaker area. I had it changed last Aug due to the batteries. It s not red and doesn t seem to be swollen, just hurts really bad. I have a lot of joint pain and see a chiropractor, which has helped a lot. I have high blood pressure, spinal stenosis and Parkinson. No heart problems except the electrical problem which the pacemaker took care of. Pacemaker is set on 70 beats per min and it still says that. Any ideas what it could be and what I can do? Thank you

What Causes Pain In The Left Shoulder Blade?
Hello, I recommend you to see a doctor, and do some examinations like a routine blood test, an x-ray of the shoulder. Since your pain gets worst with the movement, it may be bursitis and may need Cortisone injections at the located site. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care Regards, Dr Anila Skenderi, General & Family Physician
