What Causes Pain In The Left Foot?

Thanks, I awake most mornings and the first couple of steps out of bed are painful in my left foot, top part near the ankle. The foot Doc said probably arthritis but he never took an X ray. Some days it is very painful for the first few steps. The MD I mentioned did take my foot in his hand and when he pressed his thumb in the area on the top of my foot it was extremely painful, next visit he cut my toe nails and said see you in 2 months, never asked abt the pain. No longer see that MD. What are the possibilities?

Hi,

I can think of arthritis if your age is above 40, musculoskeletal if you are leading an active lifestyle, to begin with. Do check on your Calcium, Magnesium and B12 levels as well.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. CS Narayan, General & Family Physician
