Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Pain in left buttock when I get up in am and start to walk. It goes away after 15 to 20 minutes with no more pain until next am. Left buttock feels hot and right side is cold. The buttock feels tight similar to a charly horse in the calf of a leg. Is this the start of hip a problem? I change sides during the night when sleeping. I have sleep number bed and made my bed a bit firmer. What do you recommend? Email is YYYY@YYYY
Hi, to me this sounds like Sciatica which is a condition due to compression of nerves in the lower part of the spine. You can try PRIC. Physiotherapy--gently massage your lower spine with any pain balm. Rest--rest your back. Ice--apply ice to the lower back for ten minutes three times a day especially at night. Compression--get a lumbar belt and wear at night. I would also suggest you see an orthopedician at the earliest appointment you can get to rule out all possibilities. Regards
