What Causes Pain In The Knees, Hips And Lower Back?

I have joint pain in both knees, hips, lower back and one shoulder. I am losing my hair at a rapid rate and having muscle cramps often. My doctor took me off my statin drugs which helped for a while with the join pain and cramps. What can be causing this.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Your symptoms can be related to rheumatoid arthritis. I suggest you to do the following examinations to confirm the diagnosis:

- a complete blood count
- rheumatoid factor blood level
- an X-ray of the joints

Meanwhile you can use painkillers such as Ibuprofen for relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi
