What Causes Pain In The Foot And Stiffness In Big Toe?

I was standing on the edge of my right foot, when I suddenly felt serious pain in the middle. My big toe became straight, stiff, and hard to move. The pain was near the middle and a bit on the top of my foot. It slightly hurt when I tried to stand, but it was only temporary. I poked around until I could stop the pain and get my toe to move again. It has been an hour and I can still tell that it is not fully fixed. Any diagnosis? Thank you in advance.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think it was just a muscle contraction and nothing to worry about. You may need to keep yourself under observations. If it happens again you may need to do an X-ray and blood tests to get evaluated.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
