I have severe pain in both feet in the heel area with skin peelng andsorness. I am not diatbetic but i just finised chemo some months ago also i have lympedema in both lower legs. I had non hodgins lymphoma cancer.could the chemo be the cause of all of this? Mary 79yrs old
I have read your query and understand your concern. Pain around the heels could arise from many cause, including lympedema in both of your lower legs or even the side effect of chemotherapy.
The other cause are: 1. Plantar fasciitis, inflammation of the plantar fascia. 2. Heel bursitis, inflammation of the back of the heels, also caused by pressure from footwear.
When you should meet your doctor: 1. When severe pain accompanied by swelling near your heal 2. There's numbness in the heel 3. You are unable to walk normally
Some tips for you: 1. You can take ibuprofen or acetaminophen to relieve the pain 2. Warm bath your feet 3. Using night splints 4. Take a rest.
Hope this helps. Take care.
