General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

It is the action of Amphetamine through indirect acting alpha receptor function interfering with the aqueous humor flow in the eye, altering the intraocular pressure.

The class of drug is strictly contraindicated in a patient with closed-angle glaucoma, which must be evaluated thoroughly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel,
General Surgeon
