What Causes Pain In The Back Of The Head And Neck?

I’ve been having pain in the back of my head and neck and goes down my left shoulder. I thought it was a stiff neck or the pillows I use at first. I stop sleeping on the pillows and have been taking Advil for the pain but it’s still persistent. This has been happening for two weeks now. I can hardly lift my left arm. I am a 64 year old female.
