What Causes Pain In Skin Of Legs And Back?

For a week now, the skin on my upper legs has been hurting, like it hurts when you get the flu. It is mainly on the top of the legs. I thought it would go away, but it has not. Also, some slight pain on the skin on my back. And for about two days I have had a slight headache, off and on. I do not have the flu, that I know of. I have been trying to rest a lot, thinking the problem would subside.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Pain in the legs and back commonly occur due to dehydration, fatigue, sodium -potassium depletion, low glucose or low BP, anxiety, stressful lifestyle, etc. Medical conditions that may manifest such symptoms are slipped disc, trauma, over -exertion, developing sciatica, peripheral neuropathy, etc. You are suggested to take rest and stay well hydrated. Take warm beverage, soups and juice. Take food rich in protein and cereals. Take fruits and veggies.

To ease pain you can take acetaminophen or Combiflam, one SOS after food. Take adequate sleep. Lack of sleep causes fatigue and body ache. You can apply pain relieving ointments or sprays (Volini), gentle massage may be helpful. Take food rich in vitamin B6, B12, Vitamin E or supplements. You should visit a GP and get a complete health check up done. You may be recommended to get blood, urine and imaging tests done to detect the pathology causing you discomfort.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
