What Causes Pain In Penis?

I AM EXPERIENCING PAIN IN MY PENIS. NO PAIN WHEN I URINATE. NO DISCHARGE. I HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH AN ENLARGED PROSTATE GLAND AND WAS GIVEN A ANTIBIOTIC ( SIPRO ) FOR TWO WEEKS AND FLOMAX, BUT THE PAIN PERSIST. ALSO WHEN HAVING SEX IT IS PAINFUL TO EJACULATE. IS THIS PAIN ASSOCIATED WITH THE PROSTATE OR IS IT COMING FROM SOMETHING ELSE? TEST SHOWS NEGATIVE FOR URINARY TRACK INFECTION.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome.

Pain during ejaculation in males is related to three possible abnormalities: urethra, bladder or prostate. In your case as you do have a prostate enlargement, this is most probably the cause for your pain. As you are on flomax you should soon experience an improvement and reduction in symptoms.

Bur if your symptoms do not reduce, then speak to your doctor about other options (e.g. surgical removal of the enlarged part or the part causing pain and/or obstruction).

Best wishes.
