What Causes Pain In Pelvic Area With Uterine Tumor?
Hello, my name is Caroline and I have been in pain since I had to have a hysterectomy in 2010, to remove a large uterine tumor. The pain is in my pelvic area and lower back and also my rectal area. It has affected my job and my life. Nothing seem to be wrong. My Gyn said she noticed a small rectocele in 2/2014. What could be causing this terrible pain that keeps me from sitting or standing at times?
Hello, Thanks for trusting us with your health concern. Several factors could be responsible for the pain you are experiencing. 1. Involvement of the nerve fibers during the surgery and neurogenic pain persisting after recovery. 2. Involvement of the intervertebral discs in the lumbar region. 3. Rectocele is unlikely to cause such pain. Pelvic floor exercises like Kegel's exercises often help to tide over vaginal wall laxity and incontinence. Please get evaluated properly and plan further management. Physiotherapy should help. Wish you good health.
