What Causes Pain In Neck Near Adam S Apple?

I have slight pain in left side of neck near adam s apple, but more towards side of throat. It feels like the pain is from the jugular. When I touch it, it feels worse. There is no visible swelling and none to the touch either. Any ideas what this could be caused by?

Hi welcome to HCM...

Here it seems to be pharyngitis or tonsilitis...
Aso titre and CBC done ...
If seems infective than amoxycillin given..
Drink more water .
Salt water gargles done ...

If needed diluted betardine gargles done ...

Avoid respiratory irritants like excess spicy foods , oily foods and smoking ....

For congestion relief decongestant like phenylnephrine given...

Your examination needed to rule out possible causes apart from pharyngitis which seems mostly here on according to history ..

Advise : ENT surgeon consultation for examination and subsequent further work up as needed ....
