What Causes Pain In Left Upper Arm After Undergoing CABG?

I had CABG/3 in August 2010 and my left upper arm hurts when I try to reach an area at my back to scratch. It was very noticeable after surgery ust laying on my left side in bed and for a few months thereafter and calmed down but now it s back again. Is it a nerve or muscle damage from surgery?

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms could be related to muscle fibrosis or a pinched nerve. For this reason, I recommend consulting with your attending physician for a physical exam. Stretching exercise would help improve your situation, and help release the muscle fibrosis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
