What Causes Pain In Left Side Of Head Increased Upon Standing?
ok today i woke with a headache, its lasted all day at points it felt like it went away but then the pain would come back, the odd thing i have noted is that every time i stand up from sitting it seems to get worse , and the headache is only on my left side of my head. What kind of headache is this and what might i be able to do to make it better?
It seems that you have a migraine. A migraine is a recurrent type of headache that occurs because of a certain type of trigger factor. In your case I think it is because of standing up suddenly. When you stand up suddenly, there is a sudden decrease in blood flow to the brain because the blood flows to the legs when you stand up.
This causes a pressure change in the blood vessels and causes them to start a headache. Usually, getting up slowly or sitting for some time before getting up will help. Do not get up suddenly from lying on bed for example. Here are a few things that you can try to help you: Drink lots of water Sleep well and get at least 8 hours of sleep a day Inhale steam mixed with Eucalyptus oil to clear the nasal passages Take a Paracetamol 500 when you feel you are about to get a headache Eat meals at regular times
Follow up after 5 days. All the best. Hope this helps you
