What Causes Pain In Knee?

So, I have some knee pain. I am 21 years old, and I have no swelling in my knees. Both knees feel pretty sore right now, my left more then my right. It does not hurt to walk ect. The only real PAIN I feel is when I m walking down stairs. The pain is very mild. Otherwise I just have minor discomfort. I work a job in retail, and I have to crouch down sometimes. The pain began after the superbowl and I worked the previous day and we were busy. I also ship out to bootcamp in 18 days. It has now been about two weeks of discomfort. Do you think this could be a serious injury? Or should I continue to ice/OTC meds/rest?

Physical Therapist or Physiotherapist 's  Response
Hi,

In my opinion, this could be chondromalacia patella, so I recommend taping the patella, strength your adductors and internal rotators.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
