What Causes Pain In Ears After Swallowing Hot Food?

hi, I just burnt the back left side of my throat eating a burger with melted cheese. It was back there for about 30 seconds before being able to hack it up. While it was back there burning I got an extreme ear ache. Now there is what appears to blisters or sores on the left of my uvula and its not paining as much but my ear still hurts. Is this second degree burns? should I go the hospital? what should I do? ps. also feels swollen when I swallow (just like the feeling I get before I get a cold)

hello, thanks for your query, back of tongue and ear is supplied by same nerve. any injury it reaches to corresponding ear. for ur burn ( mucosal) injury, u can take simple syp.zellusil 2 tsp thrice daily for 5 days. in persistent cases u may require antibiotics and pain killers, for that u need to see an ent surgeon. all the best. take care.
