Hi,

Well, vigorous blowing of nose can cause difference in pressure inside the ear and outside the ear, which can cause pressure over the eardrum that can cause pain and discomfort. Blowing the nose vigorously can cause traumatic injury to the ears. It can cause pain, while in some cases it can even cause rupture of the eardrum.

If your ear popped then there can either be just the eardrum trying to equalize ear pressure or in case of too heavy blow there can be damage to eardrum that is Perforation of the eardrum causing a popping sound. As you already have pain then it should be addressed at the earliest. You should consult an ENT Physician and get yourself checked. An otoscopic examination of the ear can help in finding out the exact cause of the pain.

Many a times if there is injury and inflammation it heals gradually on its own, but in deeper injury or perforation you need antibiotic cover to avoid infection and support healing. Larger perforations needs surgical repair. For now also avoid exposure to loud sounds and also do not pick your ear with ear buds. You can also take care not to blow your nose to heavily and keep nostrils open when blowing.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
