What Causes Pain In Chest With History Of Elevated Triglycerides And Cholesterol?

My husband 32 year old has cholesterol and triglycerides 453 ...he complains of sharp pricks in the left chest area ...the pain has been on and off throughout the day and seems to last only a few seconds every time he had...is it alarming...does he need an ECG

Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. High cholesterol or triglycerides can give such chest pain. Cardiac ischemia should be ruled out by doing ECG. If ECG is clear a TMT test should be done to rule out exercise induced ischemia also. Lipid profile should be checked and if high medications should be taken and life style modification should be followed. Statins and fibrates combination will be helpful in such case. Low dose aspirin can be included with your doctors advise also as a prophylactic measure.
