What Causes Pain In Chest On Lifting Heavy Objects?

Two weeks ago my husband lifted a very heavy television and the next night he began experiencing the worst chest pains ever to the pt he feared he was having a heart attack. A week later still having these pains he went to ER. Tests which included blood work said no heart attack. Later in week another doctor appt assured no heart attack but he his scheduled to see cardiologist. He is full of anxiety now and even emotional about this (this is not like him) he is 44 years old. He is still having chest pains but not as severe but if not heart attack, thank God, what is it???

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,Thanks for your query. After going through your query I came to know that your are suffering from muscular pain as he lifted a very heavy television, probably his chest muscles get strained and because two doctors already excluded heart attack. Treatment of it is rest and analgesics (diclofenac three times a day after meals). Muscle relaxant such as thiocolchicoside is also useful. Vitamin B-complex and Vitamin C supplementation can used to promote healing. However you can consult cardiologist to exclude heart pain. You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it.I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query. Take care.
