What Causes Pain In Chest And Rapid Heart Beat After Gallbladder Surgery?

I had gallbladder surgery 7 days ago. Everything went great until yesterday, I started getting pain in my chest and right behind my neck and my heart beats really hard. Mostly after I eat or drink. I called the doctor and it will be a week until I get in, and can t afford a visit to the ER.... Could it be the gas still? I have mitral valve prolapse as well, could it be that? They took all the steps for this during the surgery. They told me all about the antibiotics and whatnot.... Should I even be worried at all?

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
In my opinion, your current symptoms are due to acute gastritis and stress, anxiety.
Antibiotic and other drugs are known to cause gastritis. This gastritis will cause chest pain, gaseous distention, palpitations, tachycardia etc.
And all these symptoms are more worsening in stress, anxiety and apprehension.
So first of all be relax and calm.
Drink cold water. Take pantoprazole tablet on empty stomach twice daily.
Avoid hot and spicy food. Avoid junk food.
You will mostly improve with all these.
If you fail to improve or symptoms worsen then consult emergency room.
Don't worry, you will be alright.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
