What Causes Pain In Canine Tooth Radiating To The Nose?

Hello,

I have had a cold, mild cough, mainly runny nose for the past 2 weeks. I started to experience pain in my canine tooth this weekend. This tooth had a filling done 2 months prior. The pain would come and go in my tooth but was very excruienting. Now the pain has moved to beside my right nostril and the right side of my has swollen up a bit. I don't currently have any pain except with I touch the nerve beside my nostril that is semi pretruding out. When I do press the spot beside my nose I can feel it's pressure on my incisor.

What is this and what do I do? I am supposed to get my wisdom teeth taken out this Friday!

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain as you have recurring excruciating pain in wisdom tooth and the pain is severe enough along with filling in the canine, there is a possibility that there is secondary decay in the tooth and it has reached the nerves of the tooth along with reaching below the root tips and causing pus formation, that is a dental abscess..

I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and x ray can help in diagnosis and treated accordingly..
In case of deeper decay you can be advised to get root canal treatment of tooth done followed by antibiotics and painkillers..
As of now you can take painkiller like Ibuprofen to relieve pain..
Do cool compresses over the area of nose..
Take a soft diet and avoid very hot or very cold foods..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
