What Causes Pain In Breasts Long After Menopause?

I am a soon to be 53 year old African American woman. I have been having breast pain in both of breasts. The pain is not profound. I also believe that I am going through menopause, because I have not had a menstrual period in over a year. Is breast pain one the many symptoms of menopause? Also I had a maternal Aunt die from breast cancer at the age of 25 years old in 1963. Do I have the breast cancer gene even though my mom, her 3 other sisters & my maternal grandmother never had breast cancer at all?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
It seems that your problem might be due to some hormonal disturbance occurring at menopause.
But to be on safe side get your breasts thoroughly examined by your Gynaec.
Go for Mammogram of breasts and become tension free.
Ok and take care.
