I fell on the stairs which are wooden (painted) no carpet, and I hit my ribs, this was 6 days ago now it really hurts near under my armpit lower down rib it s got worse, it hurts all day and hurts when u laugh and I m scared to cough or sneeze I keep waking up in the night and can t find a comfortable position, have I broken it?
I can understand your concern. If you had suffered concussion wound, the oain should have reduced in intensity as 6 days have passed.
As you are stating that pain us getting worse and even simple acts of laughing is causing you a lot of pain, it is advisable to visit an orthopedic surgeon for physical examination and an x-ray. Till then, you can take Ibuprofen 400 mg twice or thrice a day for relief from pain.
I hope this advise helps you. Thank you for trusting HCM. I wish you feel better soon!
Best, Dr. Viraj Shah
