What Causes Pain From Hamstring Spreading To Thighs?

Hi Dr. Rynne, I drove a long drive a week or so ago, about 1400 miles, now I have muscle soreness going from my hamstring to back of thigh, to glutes to lower back...I am a 34 athletic guy? At first it was my right leg and still is mostly, but when I bend over I feel it aggressively in that leg and some in the left, like I worked out very hard yesterday, but I have been relaxing? Hope it is not a blood clot?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hello,
I have studied your case. I think it can be due to lumbar spondyltis. In this condition there is nerve compression in the spine. It causes pain from thigh to knee. Your travelling has increased the pressure due to jerking. I have following suggestions for you.
1.Tablet Pregabalin M one daily.
2.Avoid forward bending or weight lifting for some time.
3.Learn back muscle strengthening exercises.
I hope these steps will help you. Let me know if there is any other follow up questions.
thanks
