What Causes Pain Behind The Ear Radiating Towards Neck And Skull?
I am a senior citizen with no major health problems. For about 3 weeks I have had a pain on the bone behind my right ear, radiating up to the neck area of the bottom of the skull. Do I just have a muscle strain. No problems with the ear that I can tell. Cold pack helps a lot.

I really appreciate your concern, if this is just pain with no other symptoms like numbness, tingling sensation then it could be due to muscular spasm even if does not have any local swelling initially it need to be given try with, "Tab Diclofenac 50 mg" once in day, if symptoms does not improved then it need to be sent for investigation and imaging is must, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
