What Causes Pain Behind Knees After A Leg Injury?

Hello! So I was running bleachers today and stretched before but I climbed on the fence to get to the track, and jumped and landed on my feet but then fell backwards on my butt. Ever since my right leg is hard to stretch it out all the way. The back of my knee on my right leg has sharp pains when I walk and it s hard to walk. But I can walk I just have limp a little. Is bearable but I just want to be sure I didn t break or tear anything in my leg. What could have happened?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome.

Only a physical examination can provide an accurate diagnosis, but from the given information a muscle pull is more likely or else you would be in severe pain if it were a tear. I would advise rest, ice application , compression using an elastic bandage and elevation when you are in a seated or supine position.

Best wishes.
