What Causes Pain Around The Left Nipple?

I have a pain around my left nipple. I am 66 years old and this is ongoing for many years. I have had CT MRI PETSCAN mammogram special blood work ultrasound etc. I have been told it may be a rib issue. I have been to Stanford El Camino Oconnor Good Samaritan hospitals. I will go to Klamath Orthopedic Clinic 5/15/17 to see one of their surgeons. At least 6-7 years of this. It starts hurting when I walk far or any exertion. Any time I walk quickly it starts up. After stopping and taking deep breaths it goes away. Gary Rickel

Hi,

Nipple can be irritated easily by using bra, some local inflammation or hormonal. Hydrocortisone cream applied twice a day in the nipple can improve your symptoms. A breast tumor is a palpable mass, hard, stuck to the skin, motionless.

Sometimes a breast tumor can infiltrate nipple but causes irregular nipple,nipple with wound. Consequently, it seems that you don't have a breast tumor. However you must go to your doctor for examination and rule out breast tumor.
