What Causes Pain And Tenderness In Neck?
Hi, my husband is having r sided neck pain with an area of tenderness when touched, accompanied by headaches and bp of 150/100. Has had hx of htn, but neck pain and headaches are new. Just wondering what the r neck pain with tenderness when touched can be. thanks.

Hi, In middle age or in elderly, the cause of neck pain is usually cervical spondylosis in which degenerative changes occurs in spine.For better evaluation need to do x ray of cervical spine.Patient can take muscle relaxant or mild analgesics .Hot fomentation at tender point will relive the severity of pain. Also BP is still on higher side so need to adjust the dose of hypertensive tablets.Thanks
