What Causes Pain And Swelling In The Testis After A Back Surgery?

I am a 41 yr old white male. I have had two back surgery s, L4-S1 discectimy and a discoptimy(i think that is what the second part was called). Sorry about my spelling as well for not being sure of the discoptemy word. I am now left with a lot of damage to my siactic nerve that was caused from a bad first surgery, as well I waited a year before getting my second surgery due to burocratic BS! More damage was sustained with my daily activities of just trying to cope with the pain, frustration and black outs due to pain. So now i live with chronic pain and told to be very easy on my back for the rest of my life. Now I am having an over sensitivety and pain in my testicles. Also I just had a bacterial infection in my left testcle which made it balloon to the size of a baseball. Still very tender but so far its much better and almost back to its normal size. Could the pain now be due to my back issues? I as well have not had sex for a few months so there was no jossalling or activity around that area. Thank you

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As first-line management, you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief.

If symptoms persist you can consult a general surgeon and plan for an ultrasound scan.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
General & Family Physician
