Hello my son s big toe is hurting on the side near the nail but there are no signs of the nail going under the skin he says it really hurts and I saw it and it is really swollen I don t no what to do we ve tryed soaking it in hot water and it does not work

I advice you to consult the physicain and undergo examination, routine blood test with uric acid. Doctor will give following treatment Proper rest anti inflammatory painkiller like Acelofan-SP, topical application of steroid plus antiseptic ointment like betadine Soak injured part in warm water with added vinegar to reduce the swelling Other treatment will depend on the specific cause
