I was trying to push some papers into a very tight filing cabinet drawer. As I was pushing down in between the paperwork in the drawer I felt horrible pain in my hand. I pulled my hand out and the pain in in the large knuckle at the base of my middle finger. It hurt and I figured I just mashed my hand, but then It woke me up in the middle of the night/ My knuckle looks swollen and I can't make a fist without horrible pain. It hurts to the touch on top of my hand, especially at the base of my middle finger right before the swollen knuckle. I put it in hot water, and am using an ice pack now, all of which seem to help. I am able to type this and barely able to hold a pen to writ. The pain in enough to not be able to sleep? Could it be broken? Could it be dislocated? My husband tried pulling on it, but not very hard, it is not painful to pull on, but I'm in pain when it's just sitting or I try to use it.
