What Causes Pain And Swelling In Jaw Area And Behind The Ear While Smoking Tobacco?

Hello. I noticed 2 month ago weird feeling in my underarm especially when I smoked tobacco. I started searching and I found out that it was part of my lymph system. After some time I noticed weird feeling and pain in my neck on the sides and under my jaw, so I went to the doctor. I got ultrasound done and the results came normal- just saying that my right lymph node under my jaw was a little swollen, but nothing to worry about. I continued to smoke tobacco and weed at times and on the recent trip outside of the country, I noticed that my lymph nodes swelled up under my jaw and they would swell up more when I smoked. I also noticed that my throat became swollen without any symptoms of cold and it would become better or worse depending on the time of a day. It lasted for a while(1 month at least) and I went to the doctor after I came back from my trip. I got my blood test done, Xray of my chest and the lymph system and Ultra sound of my lower body. All the results came perfect and my doctor told me there is nothing to worry about. The side effect has gone much better, but now I am feeling weird feeling in other parts of lymph node system I have not felt before. Behind my left earl, its swollen, I feel weird pain around that area that shoots into my mouth at times as well. Swelling under my jaw still gets worse as I smoke tobacco ( which I reduced to minimum now). The pain under my arm is gone, but its almost like switched to other parts of lymph system. Any advice that doesnt make me even more parranoid would be very helpful

Hi.
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain swollen lymph nodes under the jaw, in the armpit and behind the ear after smoking tobacco and which ceases gradually as the effect of tobacco subsides seems to be most probably due to allergic reaction to the chemical irritants present in the tobacco smoke..
I would suggest you to first of all avoid smoking tobacco..
Secondly consult an Allergist and get evaluated and a blood test can be done to confirm for allergies..
In case if allergic reaction is diagnosed as the cause then the best way to avoid the symptoms is to completely avoid tobacco smoking..
As of now do cool compresses over the lymph nodes..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
