What Causes Pain And Stiffness In The Lower Back?

My entire lumbar spine is fused, and the S1 is included in that. I have such stiffness and pain in my lower back and legs, it is painful for me to stand, sit for a period of time and my legs (upper) do not seem to want me to walk, painful and exhausting! I cannot take any pain meds - bad reactions to all that I have ever taken, I just read something about Diclofenac being used for swelling etc in arthritis. I am so desperate for some relief. I take Gabapentin for nerve pain but it does not help with my above symptom. Should I give Diclofenac a try? I just want some relief! Everything I do is such a task!!!!
