What Causes Pain And Numbness In The Toes?

Hello. I am a 24 year old female. Something happened to me the day before yesterday, and I m worried it might be irreversible. I would like a professional opinion. The middle fingers of both of my hands are painful and numb. My middle toe on my left foot is also painful and numb; my right foot is a bit numb, but not painful. My lower lip is also slightly swollen. All of this happened after I ate too much candy three days ago—I took a nap after that and woke up in this state. I also feel a little dizzy and feel pressure inside of my skull. (I feel dizzy also whenever I don t eat for a while—I ve been like that since my teens.) By the way, I am not in the US right now. I went to a Japanese doctor yesterday to get my blood tested, but the results will not come yet. I m worried about Japanese healthcare;it s quite backwards at points;I even went to a pharmacy to buy a blood sugar checker, but Japan doesn t have it! I only see urine sugar tests, and I bought one, but the result came out negative (low to normal) sugar. Please, tell me what do you think. I ll be back in the US next month, but until then I would like to know what s wrong with me.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It could be allergy to that candy but obviously we need a blood work to support all evidences . allergy can present in any form with a generalised or localized involvement . do you suffer from any sort of arthritis ? If you do that also could be flaring up.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
