What Causes Pain And Numbness In The Arms After Coughing?
after coughing for a day I now have pain in my arm and numbness and can not move around without my arm hurting. I can lift my arm up over my head so I can look up with out it bothering me but I can not look down there is to much pain. It is in my left arm I can not turn me head to the left without it hurting . I can sit up with out it giving me any pain but I am not comfortable when trying to sleep there is a lot of pain and numbness I move around trying to find a comfortable position to sleep in
The pains you are explaining are typical of muscular pain. You may benefit using some anti-inflammatories like ibuprofen and also Tylenol together with the anti-inflammatory drug.
You can also do some nice warm bath to relax the muscles and put some warm compresses on the most painful areas for 15-20 minutes a few times a day.
Some exercises from a physiotherapist might be very helpful as well so having an appointment with a physiotherapist might be advisable especially if you notice the warm compresses and medications are not helping you enough.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
