What Causes Pain And Numbness In Arm?

About 4 months ago out of no where my arm hurt really bad and got numb. It felt like when you are giving blood and they tie your arm to make your veins big. This lasted for a couple minutes and then went away. After this, from time to time my arm will have a tight, tingly, sensation.. sometimes painful, but very little pain. About 2 weeks after this happened I noticed my veins in my arm are very visible..it gives my arm a bluish greyish look. It has been 4 months and nothing has happened like the first episode but the veins are still very visisble and I get the tingly, tight sensation. I have been to chiropractor which did not help, and also doctor who diagnosed it as tendonitis because of pain when he pushed on my arm.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

I have studied your case.
Due to compression of nerve root there can be pain in shoulder and arm.
Also there can be large disc bulge which is compressing over spinal cord.

I will advise you clinical examination and accordingly investigation like MRI cervical spine or shoulder will help.

For these symptoms analgesic and neurotropic medication like pregabalin can be started consulting your doctor.
Till time, avoid lifting weights. You can consult physiotherapist for help.
Physiotherapy like ultrasound and interferential therapy will give you relief.
I will advise to check your vit B12 and vit D3 level.

Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.

Wishing you good health.

Take care.
