What Causes Pain And Lumps Near My Thigh And Pubic Area?
Out of no where right near the crease of my thigh and pubic area I felt an awkward feeling. I hadn't done anything all day except stay in bed and so I pressed near the area and it felt soft and tender compared to the mirroring side and so I I ignored it feeling kinda off. I woke up the next morning with a slight pain in the same area and when I applied pressure onto it with my fingers I felt a nickel sized lump. There is no swelling or redness or physical indications of it. I can only feel it when I touch it
I would keep a possibility of Furuncle, which is bacterial infection of the hair follicle. It is fairly common to develop bacterial infections at this site because of various causes like sweating, friction, rubbing, shaving etc and also because of lot of resident bacterial flora which is already present over there.
If i was your treating doctor i would have put you on oral antibiotics for a week. An OTC antibacterial ointment e.g mupirocin 2% ointment twice daily would help in faster resolution.
An OTC pain killer like ibuprofen can be taken for pain and discomfort.
regards
