What Causes Pain And Discomfort In The Pelvic Area?

Hello Doctor! I am a 54 year old male with no serious health issues, however I have began to experience a discomforting pain located in the pelvic area. I thought it was the left lower abdomen. I am embarrassed to not be as knowledgeable about the human body, but the pain is closer in the groin area... Can you tell me if the groin area would be the same as pelvic and what might be the cause. I have a doctors appt. scheduled, but I was just wondering prior to my visit... (Thanks for your time!)

I think you may need further investigation.
An urine sample analysis is needed because UTI is possible.
Also do blood count.
