What Causes Pain And Cold In Left Arm With Tingling In Fingertips?

My son is 13 yrs. old. I was called to school to pick him up because he was feeling "strange." His left arm hurts some with his fingertips tingling. His left arm feels cooler to the touch than his right arm. He is also complaing of a slight headache, and the end of his tongue tingling. He also mentioned he feels a little light headed.
Thanks,
Tracy

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi Tracy. I suggest you take him immediately to emergency to be seen. This sounds like there may be a blood flow problem possibly related to his heart or the large arteries coming from the heart. It also could be some type of neurologic problem or blood flow problem in the brain. It could be something less serious, but severe problems like I mention need to be evaluated for first. Once those are ruled out, we can look at other less serious problems. It could be he was just hyperventilating. This can cause all sorts of weird tingling and dizzy sensations. But first rule out the more serious stuff. Hope this helps.
