What Causes Pain And Burning Sensation During Urination After IUD Placement?

Hi there. I have the copper iud inserted. Went and saw a physician because was complaining about cuts in the vaginalast area and burning when urinating. This happens every month after my menstrual cycle. She gave me the betadine douche to douche 4 3 days and vaginal cream to apply together with the vaginal suppositories to be placed at night whilst douching in the morning. My question to you is it safe for me to douche whilst having the copper iud inserted in me.? Kindly assist in this regard. Thanx.

Hi,

What doctor has prescribed is right and kindly follow what has been instructed. Copper IUD will be inserted inside the uterus. Use of vaginal douche and cream will not cause any harm to IUD.

You could be experiencing symptoms of pain and burning sensation during urination at the time of periods due to vaginal mucosal reactions.

If you use antiseptic douche and use lubricating vaginal creams, such symptoms will be taken care of. Kindly do the follow-up as advised by your doctor.
