What Causes Pain And Blood While Urinating?

hi, i am 25 yrs old married female, my profession is sales & marketing and last saturday i had severe pain while passing urine final stage and slight bleeding, and i thought might be due to over heat and started drinking buttermilk, coconut water & lime juices and felt better till monday and yesterday i had same kind of pain with blood while passing urine, i am worried... Why is this happening?????

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It can be acute urethritis or other form of urinary tract infection. For further work up I recommend urine routine microscopic examination and than culture if needed. Home remedy only will not help if infection is present. If infection is reflected by presence of pus cells and bacteria in urine than antibiotic like Norfloxacin or cefixime needed for week. Cranberry juice extract tablet useful. Consult urologist for examination.
