What Causes Pain And Blood/discharge From Ear In 4 Year Old?
My 4 yr old son has recently gotten over a cold/ upper respiratory infection and was complaining about his ear hurting him. After his bath I noticed blood/discharge from the same ear. He also snores heavily when he sleeps. I have an appointment scheduled with an ENT doctor 2 wks from now. Will it be ok to wait till then or should I see if they can get him in sooner? I m just concerned about seeing the blood discharge.

Infections of upper respiratory tract may cause infection of ears (otitis media).
Blood/discharge from ear suggest ear infection.
You should not wait two weeks for ENT appointment and start treatment as early as possible by consulting your family physician.
Ask your doctor for medications like Amoxicillin (antibiotic), Paracetamol and Ibuprofen for pain relief, Decongestants for relieving nasal congestion.
