What Causes Pain Across The Waist After A Back Injury?

I feel on Thursday, down two steps and landed on my side...Hurt my back... doctor took xray and said nothing was broken, taking anti inflammatory and muscle relaxer...I can walk and raise my hands but if I take a deep breath everything around my middle ( front and back) hurts. Bending is tough...Should I be concerned or just wait it out?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Since you have already got an X-ray done and there is no bone injury, most likely the pain is due to soft tissue injury. It will take a few days to heal and the pain to subside. Meanwhile, continue to take the painkiller and apply ice to the affected area. Avoid sudden movements or lifting heavy weight.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nazma.amman,
