What Causes Pain Above The Belly Button During Pregnancy?
Hi, I m 27 weeks pregnant and yesterday I noticed a dull pain above my belly button and to the right. It sort of feels like a pulled muscle and only seems to be present when I m doing anything active, including just being up and moving around. It goes away when i lay down and felt better this morning after sleep, but has come back after getting up. I m just wondering if it is only a pulled muscle or something else. My baby has been moving normally and i feel fine otherwise.
If the pain is mainly felt with movement then it may be round ligament pain though other muscle related pain can also occur.
This round ligament pain is typically felt in one or both sides of the abdomen.
If it is very severe then you can try paracetamol to see if it helps, this can be safely used in pregnancy. A warm compress to the area along with as much rest as possible, may also help as well.
I hope this helps
