What Causes Overweight With A Normal Hormone Test?

My 16-year-old son is overweight. He's about 5, 10" and 250 pounds. He has had a variety of tests and his glucose level registered at 127. I'm told that is quite high for a teen-ager. We've just seen an endocrinologist about delayed puberty, and the results of the hormone tests are normal. But she hadn't seen the glucose level before talking with me. Is there anything else you can tell me in the interim before I talk/meet with her again about his blood sugar level? Thanks so much.
