What Causes Outbreak Of Itchy Rashes On Neck, Armpits And Back?

Hi my 17 year old daughter had shingles on her stomach in December and for the past month she s been getting rashes on her neck, by her armpits and back. She says it burns and itches - especially in the morning or night after she takes a shower..Not sure if this is something like ecema..Waiting to see dermatologist but we don t have an appointment til April? Could she possible be getting shingles again, but it s not on one side like the shingles were?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of outbreak of itchy rashes on neck, armpits and back. Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to may reasons like contact dermatitis , allergic reaction due to detergent, soap , fragrance , chemical, metal such as in jewelry, poison oak or ivy, an animal bite, or an insect sting and lyme disease. Need not to worry. Avoid touching or pricking rashes. I would suggest you to consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe antihistamine , corticosteroid ointment and may give adrenaline short . For now take benadryl twice a day , apply cold compresses and avoid any cosmetic product
