What Causes Onion Odor In Breath?

My 6 year old son spent the night with his grandparents and had a croupy cough in the night. My mom said his breath smells of onions even though he has not eaten any. I know some breath odors can be indicative of certain imbalances & am curious if onion odor is one of them.

I have read your query . As far as onion like bad breath is concerned this can be due to medical condition cough and cold , sinus infection or improper oral hygiene . For this I will suggest you to consult child physician for treatment of cold and Pedodontist for oral examination .
Inmeatime you can advise him to do warm saline gargle 3 to 4 times a day and you can start with medicine like Augmentin suspension by consulting with local doctor .
